<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boot for a constant velocity universal joint which can be appropriately engaged with the outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint, and which can improve durability. <P>SOLUTION: An arc-shaped part 14 and a straight-line part 15 are formed in the shoulder part 5 and the valley part 13 of the boot 1 for the constant velocity universal joint. The arc-shaped part 14 adjacent to a large-diameter part 2 has a protrusion cross section in the axial direction adjacent to the outside in the radial direction. The straight-line part 15 adjacent to the arc-shaped part 14 has a linear cross section in the axial direction. The inner peripheral surface 16 of the straight-line part 15 is brought into contact with the opening end 17 of the outer joint member 7 of the constant velocity universal joint 6, and the thickness from the arc-shaped part 14 to the straight-line part 15 is made uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
