PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve conventional problems that every time for replenishing ice requiring once dismounting an ice pack to discard water and exchange with new ice and water, a patient's posture must be changed, or the patient must be unnecessarily raised. SOLUTION: A heat source unit (A) chilled in a freezer is provided merely by inserting a tube (F) and the exchanged unit can be repeatedly used by chilling in the freezer. Thus, a new cooling medium can be supplied without touching a patient for maintaining cooling action. In addition, a manual three-way valve (J) is placed to take out a necessary amount of chilled heat and regulate a flow volume and keep an optimal temperature (Fig.3). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
