PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood attaching structure of an automobile capable of reducing the number of part items, while reducing the number of processes such as spot welding. SOLUTION: The hood attaching structure includes a hood 3 having a hood outer panel 4 and a hood inner panel 5, a hood hinge 2 fastened to a lower face of the hood inner panel 5 and for coupling the hood to a vehicle body, a hood hinge retainer 6 attached to an upper face of the hood inner panel, and bolts 7 and nuts 9, the bolts penetrating upwardly the hood hinge retainer, the hood inner panel, and the hood hinge, and fasten them together with the nuts. The hood hinge retainer 6 has a bottom face part 6a through which the bolts penetrate, two stand face parts 6c and 6d that stand upwardly from both ends of the bottom face part 6a and opposes to each other, and a lid-like part 6h that is formed by extending an upper end of one of the stand face parts and bending the extended part in substantially horizontally, and intervenes between the tip ends of the bolts and the hood outer panel.
