PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece shape measuring device for measuring a workpiece diameter, to prevent a sensor from being contaminated by cutting water and cutting powder, and not to restrict the number of tools to be mounted on the turret. SOLUTION: The tool post 12 is positioned in such a way that the front end face of the turret 22 is opposed to the front end of a spindle 21 on the headstock 11. The tool post 12 is movable freely in a Z-axis direction and in an X-axis direction. The side of the tool post 12 is equipped with a sensor 34 for measuring a workpiece shape.
