The device (110) has a dosing module (116) for dosing a pollutant-decreasing medium (112). A supply system (114) provides the pollutant-decreasing medium to the dosing module. A turn-off device (126) has energy storage (134) and plunger spring storage (128) partially loaded with energy during an operation of the dosing device. The turn-off device is equipped to partly empty the dosing module and/or the supply system by the energy stored in the energy storage and plunger spring storage during loss of the power supply of the dosing device.
