The method involves producing both a steplessly adjustable output signal and an output signal (S1) by an operating element (110) e.g. joystick. The output signal is transmitted to a maneuvering device (30) for adjusting a guiding parameter of a medical device (20) i.e. endoscopic capsule, by the operating element. The output signal is produced from a null position in a deflection degree of freedom depending on a deflection of the operating element of an operating element group (100), where deflection is steplessly adjustable.
