<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve motor efficiency while reducing torque ripple of a three-phase AC motor. <P>SOLUTION: A command value generating part 11 generates a current command value according to a torque command signal. A feedback control system controls a motor 100 by generating a motor current according to the current command value. The current command value contains basic wave current command values Id* and Iq* as well as harmonic current command values Idn* and Iqn*. The command values Id* and Iq* are so generated that the electrical phase angle of the basic wave current is kept at 45°.
