PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail driving device easily installable to all types of truss, and simply installed to an existing truss even in the renewal of a passenger conveyor, and its installation method. SOLUTION: A driving unit 11 having an LT driving device 15 is mounted to an upper beam 4a of the truss 4, and an idler unit 12 having an idler pulley 20 is mounted to a lower beam 4b of the truss 4, respectively. The driving unit 11 and the idler unit 12 are connected while adjusting a position by a connecting means (a connecting piece 23, a long hole 18, and a connecting bolt 17).
