PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control system effectively reducing vibration after accurately acquiring a present status, in an existing large-sized structure that senses a shake greatly to impair comfortability in the case of a strong wind and a long-period earthquake. SOLUTION: The vibration control system for performing the vibration control of the existing large-sized structure by carrying out the driving control of a mass of an active dynamic vibration absorber (AMD) includes processes for measuring wind speed, a wind direction and the acceleration of vibration associated with wind regarding the existing large-sized structure, preparing an analytic model of the existing large-sized structure, and preparing a theoretical wind load to the existing large-sized structure (S1B, S1C), analyzing a characteristic value of the existing large-sized structure (S2), carrying out a wind tunnel test using a model of the existing large-sized structure based on the analyzed result of the characteristic value and the theoretical wind load to estimate response acceleration by the wind (S3), designing and manufacturing the AMD and a control device based on the estimated response acceleration (S4, S5), and carrying out performance confirmation tests of the AMD and control device, conveyance into an installation site, and installation, adjustment and on-site performance tests of the AMD and control device (S6-S9).
