PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet bowl flushing apparatus which can surely discharge filthy matters by continuing siphonage for a long period of time, and which enables silencing. SOLUTION: This toilet bowl flushing apparatus comprises a flushing water supply device 10 for supplying flushing water to a toilet bowl 2, and an air intake and exhaust device 20 for sucking in air from a toilet-bowl drainage passage 5 and discharging the air into the toilet-bowl drainage passage 5. The toilet bowl flushing apparatus is also equipped with a control device 30 which controls the performance of the water supply operation of the flushing water supply device 10 and the performance of the air intake and exhaust operations of the air intake and exhaust device 20. The control unit 30 generates the siphonage by performing the air intake operation during the performance of the water supply operation. Additionally, the control device 30 completes the siphonage by performing the air exhaust operation before the completion of the supply of the flushing water to the toilet bowl 2. The supply flow of the flushing water supplied to the toilet bowl 2 of the flushing water supply device 10 is almost equal to the drainage flow of the flushing water discharged from the toilet-bowl drainage passage 5 when the water level of the flushing water in the toilet bowl 2 is lowered to the vicinity of an inflow port 4 by the siphonage.
