The system has a selective catalytic reduction-heat exchanger (20) for performing heat exchange between a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) additive and a set of refrigerant circuits (2a, 2b) of a refrigerant-system i.e. vehicle air conditioning system (1), of a motor vehicle. The exchanger has heat distribution medium provided over an intermediate circuit that is a component of an engine-refrigerant-circuit (6). The refrigerant circuit is alternatively operable in a cooling operation or in a heating operation.
