The inventive straining spoon is directed at separating a product from liquid. The claimed result is achieved by that the straining spoon is introduced in an empty container, the container is filled with the product in liquid and is closed. The use consists in opening the container and removing the defined quantity of product therefrom by means of the straining spoon. Said straining spoon is made of a liquid-resistant material and can be used in the food industry. The straining spoon is designed in the form a circle which is provided with holes and tabs arranged along the circumference thereof. Said structure is attached to a long vertical handle with a ring, said handle having three fixing projections on the rear side thereof. The tabs enable the straining spoon to be used irrespective of the container diameter and prevent the product from falling out therefrom. The fixing projections on the handle of the straining spoon make it possible to secure the spoon with product on the container at a required height in such a way that a determined portion of product can be removed from the container without contacting the liquid.
