BUTTRESS MATERIAL WITH ALIGNMENT AND RETENTION FEATURE FOR USING WITH SURGICAL END-EFFECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piece of a buttress material and an end-effector for surgical instruments which enable a surgeon to attach the piece of the buttress material to the end-effector properly and rapidly.

SOLUTION: In various embodiments, the piece of the buttress material includes retention features which are engaged with each part of the end-effector to releasably retain the piece of the buttress material to at least a part of the end-effector. Similarly, the end-effector includes features configured to engage each part of the piece of the buttress material to releasably retain the piece of the buttress material to the end-effector. In at least one embodiment, a plurality of pieces of the buttress material are releasably retained to the end-effector.
