PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater deterioration detecting device for detecting the deterioration of a heater. SOLUTION: A GCU 6 discriminates the deterioration of the ceramic heater 40a from a resistance value for the ceramic heater 40a in a glow plug 4a connected to a battery 3. Voltage drop Vi to be output from a shunt resistor 23 and a differential amplifier 26 provided in a passage X and reference voltage Vref as potential at a point y in a passage Y are input to a comparator 27 so that the comparator 27 compares and discriminates the Vi with and from the Vref to discriminate the deterioration of the ceramic heater 40a.
