PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building panel mounting structure which enables the simple and stable mounting of a building panel. SOLUTION: In this building panel mounting structure, a plurality of rectangular building panels 1 are mounted on construction substrates (2 and 2a) in such a manner as to adjoin one another so that a joint groove 13 can be formed. A joint member 10, which is composed of a cover joint member 12 and a joint retainer member 11, is arranged in the joint groove 13. The joint retainer member has a body portion 11a which is provided with an engaging portion 110 for engaging and holding the cover joint member, and which has a thin plate-like flange portion 11b which is fixed to a surface of the construction substrate. The screwing of a flat countersunk head screw 3 as a fixing implement makes the flange portion fixed to the construction substrate, makes the flat countersunk head screw penetrate the flange portion, and makes the flange portion bite into the construction substrate by making a screw head 3a of the flat countersunk head screw press and deform the flange portion on a peripheral edge portion of a penetrated portion, so as to make a surface of the screw head approximately flush with that of the flange portion.
