The hydrocyclone filtration device comprises a receiving container (10) for a lacquer suspension (11), a separator (12) for separating a lacquer particle (20) from a suspension agent (21) of the lacquer suspension, and first and second electrode elements (14a, 14b) coupled with an electrical supply source (26). A first electrical potential is applied to the lacquer suspension by the first electrode element and a second electrical potential is applied to the separator by the second electrode element. The first and the second potentials are applied with same polarity to the electrode elements. The hydrocyclone filtration device comprises a receiving container (10) for a lacquer suspension (11), a separator (12) for separating a lacquer particle (20) from a suspension agent (21) of the lacquer suspension, and first and second electrode elements (14a, 14b), which are coupled with an electrical supply source (26). A first electrical potential is applied to the lacquer suspension by the first electrode element and a second electrical potential is applied to the separator by the second electrode element. The first and the second potentials are applied with same polarity and with same and/or different magnitude to the electrode elements by the supply source. The electrode elements are arranged within a wall region and/or within the receiving container and are formed in a sieve-like manner. The separator comprises a suction pipe and/or a pump for removing the suspension agent from the receiving container, and a micro filtration and/or an ultra filtration unit. The second electrode element is arranged at an outer circumference of the suction pipe and/or the pump and/or forms a part of the suction pipe and/or the pump. The receiving container is formed as pipe. A measuring device for determining a measured value characterizing a concentration of the lacquer particles in the separated suspension agent is arranged downstream to the separator. A return device coupled with the measuring device is intended for guiding the separated suspension agent into the receiving container with respect to the determined measured value. An independent claim is included for a method for the operation of a filtration device for motor vehicles.
