An optical fiber characteristic measuring device which includes a light source for emitting laser light modulated at a predetermined modulation frequency, an incident section for allowing the laser light from the light source as continuous light and pulsed light to be incident on one end and the other end of an optical fiber, respectively, a timing adjuster for allowing light emitted from the optical fiber to pass therethrough at a predetermined timing, and a light detector for detecting the light which has passed through the timing adjuster and measures the characteristic of the optical fiber by using the result of the detection by the light detector comprises a synchronous detector for synchronously detecting the result of the detection by the light detector by using a synchronous signal having a predetermined frequency and a frequency setting section for changing the frequency of the synchronous signal when the modulation frequency in the light source is an integral multiple of the frequency of the synchronous signal. |
