<p>The method involves fastening a measuring unit (21) on a machine section (1), where another measuring unit (42) is fastened on another machine section (2), such that a plane expanding light beam is aligned parallel to an axis of the former machine section. The former measuring unit is provided with a light source (31) for emission of light beam expanding in the plane, and the latter measuring unit has an optical detector unit with two parallel line sensors (42a,42b). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for detecting the alignment of two hollow cylindrical-shaped machine sections; (2) a method for testing a component for straightness along the longitudinal side; and (3) a device for determining an alignment of two rotatably supported machine sections.</p> |
