A plastic composite component (1) has two plastic bodies (2, 3) welded together comprising a first plastic component (4) and a second plastic component (5). The second plastic component (5) is positioned next to a weld seam (7) between the two plastic components (2, 3), in a manner displaced away from the weld seam (7). A boundary surface (9), facing the weld seam (7), of the second plastic component (5) is interspaced from a weld seam plane (8). The tool used to produce the weld connection between the two plastic bodies (2, 3) is a tool comprising a welding mirror for the defined melting of a near-surface layer of the first component (4), which layer is next to the weld seam plane (8), and a displacer body (15) for displacing the second plastic component (5) from the weld seam plane (8). When the weld connection is produced, two raw plastic bodies comprising the two plastic components (4, 5) are provided. The second plastic component (5) is then displaced away from the weld seam (7) in the vicinity of the weld seam (7) between the two plastic bodies (2, 3) in such a manner that the boundary surface (9), facing away from the weld seam (7), of the second plastic component (5) is interspaced from the weld seam plane (8). The two plastic bodies (2, 3) are then welded together. The invention provides a plastic composite component the quality of the weld connection of which is improved irrespective of the weldability of the second plastic component. |
