<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal processing device which can be applied to optical noise removal operation, wavelength conversion operation and the like and by which an insertion loss can be reduced and inputted optical power can be increased. <P>SOLUTION: The optical signal processing device 10 constituted by including a grounded EA (electro-absorption modulator) chip 20 which optical signal is inputted in and outputted from and direct current voltage is applied to and an external resistance body 30 connected to the EA chip 20 in series and connected to an external voltage applying means A, is characterized in that optical absorption current generated by the EA chip 20 flows through the external resistance body 30 to generate voltage drop and thereby the direct voltage applied to the EA chip 20 is changed. The time obtained by dividing double of the length of the transmission path from the EA chip 20 to the external resistance body 30 by the velocity of the electromagnetic wave is preferably smaller than a quarter of the reciprocal of the bit rate of the optical signal inputted to the EA chip 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
