The present invention relates to an unplasticized PVC composition comprising poly(vinyl chloride), calcium carbonate, zinc borate, and one or more metal hydroxides selected from the group consisting of aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. This composition is suitable for producing unplasticized PVC articles, in particular unplasticized PVC tube-shaped articles having both favourable mechanical properties and desirable smoke suppressing properties and flame retardancy.
