The network has transmitters distributed in a geographical zone, where each transmitter transmits a synchronous signal with respect to an external reference signal. Monitoring devices are distributed in the geographical zone such that each monitoring device receives the signals transmitted by the transmitters. Each monitoring device includes a synchronization unit (150) for synchronizing a signal obtained from combination of the signals received by the monitoring device. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a data transmission network.
