A method and an apparatus for measuring muscular strength of a muscle are provided to estimate the muscular strength from the arm muscle information and the leg muscle information based on mutual relation between muscles. A muscular strength estimator(200) includes an arm muscle measurement information module(210), a leg muscle information measurement module(230), a correlation decision module(270) and a central processing unit(250). The arm muscle information measurement module measures the arm muscle information including the arm muscle strength and the arm muscle endurance. The leg muscle information measurement module measures the leg muscle information including the arm muscle strength and the leg muscle endurance. The correlation decision module decides the correlation between the muscular strength of the object muscle, and the arm muscle information and the leg muscle information. The central processing unit estimates the muscular strength of the object muscle based on the correlation.
