PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an optically anisotropic sheet so that an optic axis of discotic liquid crystalline molecules and a transmission axis of a polarizing layer can be easily and vertically arranged. SOLUTION: In the optically anisotropic sheet provided with an optically anisotropic layer made of the discotic liquid crystalline molecules, a rubbing treated alignment layer and a transparent supporting body arranged in this order, the discotic liquid crystalline molecules are aligned with an average inclined angle of 50-90 deg. and further in such a way that the average direction of the optic axis is essentially in parallel with the rubbing direction of the alignment layer. |
