System and method for RFID supported system configuration

The system has a reading unit (3) for identification of an identifier, that is utilized for identification of arranged components. A data base is provided in which the identification characteristics are assigned by the identified components. A processing unit is provided for determination of the configuration of the plant based on the identified identifier and for the examination of the configuration regarding acceptability for a process implemented by the plant based on the characteristics of the components stored on the database. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a procedure for determination and examination of configuration of an industrial plant; and (2) an industrial plants with components.
