Calculation of the position of body parts considering anatomical symmetry

The method involves describing position of one of the side of the body part by a side body part data. Another side body part data is provided which describes the position of one of another side body part. A reflected relative position of the latter side body part is determined on basis of latter side body part data and the symmetry plane data. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for the calculation of layer of body portions; (2) a program, which runs on a computer; (3) a storage medium, which corresponds to the program; (4) a data processing apparatus; and (5) a navigation system with a detection mechanism.
