<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character generating system capable of managing font history information which is grasped only by a unit of a character generating device, a font service providing system, and a font information management system having the device and the system. <P>SOLUTION: This character generating device 12 has a font control section that interprets document data 14 and forms or reforms a character. The font control section forms font information 15 in relation to a font used in the document data 14 including at least a font name, a version, a character group correlated by special information and a time stamp added thereto at the used time obtained by counting by a unit of each character.
