The method involves moving an embossing film strip (130) with variable strip speed via an embossing gap using a film transporting device (140). The embossing film strip is withdrawn by a timing roller/control roller (145) using a pneumatic traction conveyor device (160) arranged downstream to the transporting device. The embossing film strip is transectioned downstream of the device and outside of an engagement region (161) of the conveyor device in given periods of time for generation of separated embossing film strip sections.
