A puncture instrument that before use, is detachably fitted to a fitting area of puncture device. The puncture instrument is one comprising a puncture needle having a needle member provided at its distal end with a sharp needle tip and a needle hub fixed to the proximal end of the needle member; a casing adapted to accommodate the puncture needle in a fashion allowing movement thereof in its longitudinal direction; and an extension part movably fitted to the casing, the extension part adapted to move relative to the casing so as to allow extension of the length of the casing on its proximal end side, wherein in the state of nonextension of the extension part, regular fitting to the puncture device can be realized, and wherein in the state of extension of the extension part, regular fitting to the puncture device cannot be realized. |
