[Also in Group XXV] A wish-bone link in a road vehicle independent wheel suspension is made of stamped sheet metal parts and includes two separate arms 7, 8, adjustable with respect to each other and simultaneously forming a housing for a ball joint with the road wheel carrier 1. The two arms 7, 8, are secured together by bolts 16 and at the outer ends are journalled by means of rubber bush joints 20, 20<SP>1</SP>. A bolt 19 is used to apply a tensioning force to urge the free ends of the arms 17, 18, towards each other. A cup shaped member 13 of selflubricating synthetic bearing material is disposed between the ball 10<SP>1</SP> of the ball joint and a socket portion 11 formed in the arm 8. Radial projections 14 are formed in the member 13 to engage with corresponding locating recesses 15 formed in the arm 7. |
