A glass melting apparatus including a refiner bath for refining a molten glass obtained by melting of glass raw materials. The apparatus is provided with a shade defining a flow channel within the refiner bath so as to realize zigzag flow of the molten glass fed to the refiner bath within the refiner bath. The bottom part of the refiner bath is tilted so that the flow channel rises toward the downstream region from the upstream region. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
