ANTICANCEROUS POLYSACCHARIDES OBTAINED FROM SUBMERGEDMYCELIAL CULTURE OF THE CORDYCEPS TAKAOMONTANA KFCC 11412P SP. AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF

A method for producing intracellular and extracellular polysaccharides is provided to produce the polysaccharide which suppresses the growth of brain cancer cell. An intracellular and extracellular polysaccharide is obtained by culturing a Corcyceps takaomontana (KFCC 11412P). The polysaccharide is used for preventing and treating brain tumor. A functional health adjuvant food for preventing and treating brain cancer comprises the extracellular or intracellular polysaccharide as an active ingredient. A method for identifying the anticancer activity of the polysaccharide comprises: a step of testing anticancer efficiency of brain tumor cell line of the polysaccharide through MTT method; and a step of measuring the expression of protein which is related to cell death and performing comet assay to confirm anticancer mechanism.
