A guide for positioning a guide wire on a femur to allow a tunnel to be form ed in the femur along the guide wire is provided. The guide includes an elongated body having proximal and distal ends, and a distal tip formed on the distal end of the elongated body, the distal tip having a diameter substantially similar in size to the diameter of the desir ed resultant femoral tunnel, wherein the elongated body and the distal tip are cannulated to receive the guide wire.
