PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of displaying a deformed map image formed by enlarging a reduced scale of a predetermined area of a map from a reference reduced scale of the map. SOLUTION: When high-speed movement is switched to low-speed movement and a deformed map selecting command is output from a control command input unit 6, a deformed map display image 34 including a present location mark 35 is displayed on a display 10 based on present location data detected by a GPS unit and deformed map data from a map database so that the reduced scale of a highland recreation tourist resort area 30 which is the predetermined area, is enlarged from the reference reduced scale of the other area. In the other area of the map, the reduced scale is linearly adjusted from the reference reduced scale to the enlarged reduced scale until reaching the highland recreation tourist resort area 30.
