<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reform fuel of an engine while suppressing electric power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: When it is determined that a NOx trap amount exceeds a predetermined amount, catalyst temperature is lower than predetermined temperature, coast driving is performed, battery charge amount (SOC) exceeds predetermined amount, or reformed fuel residual amount is less than predetermined residual amount, high voltage (several KV to several tens of KV) is supplied to between electrodes fitted sandwiching a catalyst to perform reform by plasma discharge in Step S12. When all of the conditions are not determined, proceeding to Step S13, voltage supplied to between the electrodes is set to a low voltage (several hundreds of V), and reform is performed by dielectric excitation action having an electric potential difference which does not cause discharge between the electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
