PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector, etc. capable of suitably displaying an image by a lower image processing load when one image is to be displayed by using a plurality of projection images. SOLUTION: The projector 100 includes: an OSD image generation part 134 for generating an OSD image in which an area corresponding to a superposition area has a prescribed transmission factor on the basis of superposition area information indicating the superposition area of a plurality of projection images; an image generation part 170 for generating a synthetic image obtained by superposing the OSD image to an original image; and a projection part 190 for projecting the synthetic image as the projection images.
