PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which enables a user to comprehend a more detailed receiver status, without giving discomfort to the user from a displayed error message and further, enables the user to easily shift a receiver recovery operation. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver selectively receives BS digital broadcast and terrestrial digital broadcast, wherein when detecting a reception signal level error while a present channel is selected, a control portion 23 performs a channel selecting operation upon all channel selection data being stored in an information accumulation portion 31 and newly stores in the information accumulation portion 31 channel selection data, obtained in channel selecting operation, constituted of date/time data, environmental information data and a signal level. The control portion 23 analyzes first channel selection data before the signal level error detection and the second channel selection data after the detection, the channel selection data being stored in the information accumulation portion 31, and an error message is generated by an additional information generation portion 24 with contents indicating a detailed state of the reception signal level and a method of dealing with the error in accordance with the data analysis result, and displayed on a monitor.
