SOLUTION: A rolling bearing unit 1 is provided which has a first rolling bearing 10A and a second rolling bearing 10B arranged in the axial direction at a predtermined interval and incorporating a plurality of rolling elements 16 with circumferential intervals in annular spaces between inner rings 12a, 14a and outer rings 12b, 14b arranged in the same axis, a shaft 3 fitted into the inner rings 12a, 14a of these two rolling bearings 10A, 10B, and a sleeve 5 having a fitting bore 9 fitted with the outer rings 12b, 14b of the two rolling bearings 10A, 10B, wherein the outer ring 12b of the first rolling bearing 10A has an outer diameter size larger than the outer ring 14b of the second rolling bearing 10B, on an inner surface of the fitting bore 9 of the sleeve 5, a step part 33 is provided to which an end surface of the second rolling bearing 10B side of the outer ring 12b of the first rolling bearing 10A is abutted, and the inner diameter size of the step part 33 has a size not less than the outer diameter size of the second rolling bearing 10B.
