PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for metering and adding a liquid by which the liquid can be metered and added with high accuracy and little variation causing little trouble, etc., because of few movable parts for the purpose of solving problems in conventional ones. SOLUTION: The apparatus for metering and adding the liquid designed to supply a precisely metered amount of the liquid is provided. The apparatus for metering and adding the liquid is characterized by having a means for supplying the liquid from a storage tank to a metering pot installed in the upper part of the storage tank, a means for metering a prescribed amount of the liquid by leaving a prescribed amount of the liquid in the metering pot when stopping the liquid supply after filling the metering pot with the liquid, and returning the excess liquid to the storage tank, and a means for adding the liquid in the metering pot to the destination of supply.
