PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element for an underwater filter, which is usable even if the shape viewed from above of the storage part of the filter element for an underwater filter is a similar figure shape and a different shape. SOLUTION: The filter element 11 for an underwater filter is stored in a housing and used. A ring-shaped filter element part 13 that has the same height as that of a central filter element part 12 having a prescribed height and is concentric to the central filter element part 12 is detachably arranged on the outside of the central filter element part 12 and corner filter element parts 14 having the same height as that of the ring-shaped filter element part 13 are attached to the four corners of the ring-shaped filter element part 13 so that the external shape viewed from above of the corner filter element parts is a rectangle.
