A GAME BOARD AND PLAYING PIECES WITH RELEASE SYSTEM

A game board comprises a casing typically moulded from a plastics material and a plurality of playing pieces, the board comprising a number of recesses into the board from an upper face thereof for receiving the playing pieces during play. The recesses and playing pieces comprise retaining means to interengage to retain the playing pieces in the board when inserted into the board during play. The board also comprises a release component movable beneath the upper face of the board substantially in the plane of the board to release the playing pieces.
