<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of performing continuous operation without stop of the system even when a high load is requested immediately after the starting of a fuel cell; and to provide a method of controlling the same. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system determines whether the execution of drain purge control is necessary based on soak time correlating to moisture contents remaining in an anode passage and temperature drop width, and when a decision is made that the execution of the drain purge control is necessary, a purge valve is opened while the continuous operation possible time is in the prescribed drain effective time or more and the pressure difference generating in the anode passage is the prescribed drain effective pressure or higher, and the drain purge control is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
