<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for isolating hepatic liver engrafting cell for providing a substantially enriched mammalian hepatic liver engrafting cell population, and a method for culturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is the method for enriching mammalian hepatic liver engrafting cell composition in which at least 80% of the cells are R2, and which is positive for a marker selected from the group consisting of 5E12, Ep-Cam, CD49f, and E-Cadherin, and is HLA low.
