<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce hardware quantity required for checking a special number decision circuit. <P>SOLUTION: In a floating point arithmetic device 1 equipped with a plurality of floating point arithmetic units 30, a floating point arithmetic unit 30a is provided with: a spacial number decision circuit 40 for deciding whether or not an operand as an input signal is a spacial number, and for outputting a spacial number status showing the decision result; and a spacial number status comparator circuit 33 for comparing the spacial number status to be output by the spacial number decision circuit 40 with the spacial number status to be transmitted from the other floating point arithmetic unit 30b, and for outputting an error signal when the statuses are not coincident with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
