<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor capable of suppressing an increase in the size of a transmission when a speed reduction mechanism is added. <P>SOLUTION: The speed reduction mechanism 18 comprises an internal gear 55 connected to the input shaft (second output shaft) 38, planetary gears 57 meshed with the internal gear 55 and rolling inside the internal gear 55, and a sun gear 58 meshed with the planetary gears 57 and irrotationally disposed. The shaft section 59a of a carrier 59 which supports the planetary gears 57 and the axis section 58a of the sun gear 58 are cylindrically formed. The shaft section 59a of the carrier 59 is so inserted as to be placed on the axis section 58a of the sun gear 58 in the direction vertical to the axis.
