<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine with a turbocharger capable of sufficiently raising the pressure of intake air passing through a diffuser section and varying the operation range of a compressor. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 1 with the turbocharger 10 comprises a bypass passage 20 which is provided in parallel with the diffuser section 17 and is smaller in passage resistance of the intake air than the diffuser section 17, a movable wall 21 movable between a first position P1 where the intake air discharged from a compressor wheel 15 is introduced to the diffuser section 17 and a second position P2 where the intake air discharged from the compressor wheel 15 is introduced to the bypass passage 20, and an actuator 22 driving the movable wall 21 between the first position P1 and the second position P2, wherein the position of the movable wall 21 is varied according to the operation state of the compressor 11 specified by the flow rate of the intake air flowing into the compressor 11 and by a pressure ratio which is the ratio of inlet pressure to outlet pressure of the compressor 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
