PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method capable of suppressing degradation in color quality caused by reduction in the sensitivity of contrast in the case of correcting color shifts. SOLUTION: The image processor is equipped with a signal input unit for inputting red (R), green (G), and blue (B) signals in each pixel read out by a color-line sensor; and color-shift correctors (13A, 13B) for standardizing one of R, G, B signals, comparing the standardized color signal with two remaining color signals, and performing predetermined color-shift correction in each of the remaining color signals. The color-shift corrector performs the correction by changing the correction method of the noted pixel, depending on a requirement whether or not the noted pixel to be corrected satisfies a predetermined condition.
