REDUNDANT DATA RETRIEVING DEVICE AND REDUNDANT DATA RETRIEVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow redundant data to be retrieved without incurring increase in a system cost and in system complexity, and to reducing possibility of causing an error when retrieving the redundant data or considering deletion of the redundant data. SOLUTION: A method for retrieving redundant data comprises: a step of generating one or more identifiers from at least a part of a first segment data; a step of generating one or more identifiers from at least a part of a second segment data; and a step of comparing the one or more identifiers associated with the first segment data and the one or more identifiers associated with the second segment data with each other to determine whether or not the first segment data is substantially identical to the second segment data. There is a correspondence on at least one of a time basis and a bit unit basis between at least a part of the first segment data and at least a part of the second segment data.
