The component (1) has a pair of profiles (2, 3) mounted with each other such that vehicle pillars are manufactured with different lengths. The profiles are guided together in a telescope-like manner and manufactured in a sheet metal shell construction. Telescope-like guidance takes place by a parallel section, which is formed at each profile. The profiles are additionally reinforced by integral foam and additional elements. Each profile has an interface (6) for binding to a body, where the interface is adjustably fixable at the body in a longitudinal direction.
