<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a metal catalyst carrier capable of enhancing product quality, durability and a cleaning capacity by enhancing the surface washing degree of a metal foil becoming the material of a honeycomb object. <P>SOLUTION: After the metal foils 1 and 7 wound around uncoilers 2a and 8a are processed into a corrugated shape and a flat plate-like shape, the corrugated metal foil 1 and the flat plate-like metal foil 7 are wound in a superposed state a large number of times to form a roll-shaped honeycomb object 13 and, after the honeycomb object 13 is pressed into a cylindrical outer cylinder 15, it is heated to subject the mutual joined parts of the metal foils 1 and 7 of the honeycomb object 13 to diffusion joining. In this manufacturing method of the metal catalyst carrier 16, foreign matter removing processes (shaving processes 9 and 10 and wiping-off processes 3 and 4) for shaving off the foreign matters on the surfaces of the strip like the metal foils 1 and 7 becoming the material of the honeycomb object 13 are provided immediately before the metal foil 1 is processed into the corrugated shape after the metal foil 1 is uncoiled from the uncoiler 2a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
